A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the role of the secretary of state in elections.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 16.001(e), Election Code, is amended to
  read as follows:
         (e)  The information required to be filed with the secretary
  of state under this section must be filed electronically.  [The
  secretary of state may waive this requirement on application for a
  waiver submitted by the appropriate entity.]
         SECTION 2.  Section 127.201(f), Election Code, is repealed.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
