A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the use of state funds for enforcement of commercial |
|
|
motor vehicle electronic logging device requirements. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 644, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 644.006 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 644.006. ENFORCEMENT OF ELECTRONIC LOGGING DEVICE |
|
|
REQUIREMENTS. State funds may not be used to implement or enforce |
|
|
the federal electronic logging device requirements of 49 C.F.R. |
|
|
Part 395 or state rules adopted to implement those requirements. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
