A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to specialty license plates issued to retired members of
  the United States armed forces.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 504.303, Transportation Code, is amended
  by adding Subsections (b) and (c) to read as follows:
         (b)  The department shall include the word "Retired" for
  license plates issued to retired members of the United States armed
  forces who have completed 20 or more years of satisfactory federal
  service.
         (c)  A letter from the United States Department of Defense,
  the Department of the Army, or the Department of the Air Force
  stating that a retired member has 20 or more years of satisfactory
  federal service is satisfactory proof of eligibility.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
