the United States armed forces. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 504.303, Transportation Code, is amended | ||
by adding Subsections (b) and (c) to read as follows: | ||
(b) The department shall include the word "Retired" for | ||
license plates issued to retired members of the United States armed | ||
forces who have completed 20 or more years of satisfactory federal | ||
service. | ||
(c) A letter from the United States Department of Defense, | ||
the Department of the Army, or the Department of the Air Force | ||
stating that a retired member has 20 or more years of satisfactory | ||
federal service is satisfactory proof of eligibility. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | ||
