R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends have been profoundly saddened by |
|
the tragic death of Skylar Brooke Carpenter of Quitman on February |
|
17, 2011, at the age of 15; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born to David and Becky Carpenter in Mount Pleasant |
|
on July 6, 1995, Skylar Carpenter was a sophomore at Quitman High |
|
School, where she served as a class officer; she was active in the |
|
Quitman Anchor Club, the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of |
|
America, and the FFA; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Carpenter also enjoyed fellowship at the First |
|
Baptist Church of Quitman and sang in the church's youth choir; she |
|
was known for her beaming smile, kind heart, and devotion to her |
|
faith; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although her journey on this earth ended far too |
|
soon, Skylar Carpenter will always be remembered with great |
|
affection by all who were fortunate enough to share in her love and |
|
friendship; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Skylar Brooke |
|
Carpenter and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: |
|
to her parents, David and Becky Carpenter; to her sister, Shelbi |
|
Carpenter; to her aunts and uncle, Tammy Daniel, Brenda Boyer, and |
|
Roger and Melissa Thornton; and to her other relatives and many |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Skylar |
|
Carpenter. |
