R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Dennis Stanek of the West University |
|
Place Fire Department is marking his 40th anniversary with the |
|
department in the summer of 2013; and |
|
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of West U, Lieutenant Stanek |
|
joined the department when he was just 19 and was promoted to |
|
lieutenant two years later; he became one of the city's first |
|
paramedics and helped build its first ambulances out of converted |
|
vans; and |
|
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Stanek has played an instrumental role in |
|
the department's transition from a primarily reactive organization |
|
to an agency that works proactively to avert catastrophe through |
|
code enforcement and education; devoted to assisting his fellow |
|
citizens, he considers his profession a calling rather than a job |
|
and likes to claim that he has never worked a day in his life because |
|
he's doing what he enjoys most; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to his service to the fire department, |
|
Lieutenant Stanek runs Stanek Painting and Specialty Finishes, a |
|
contracting business that he started as a high school student; he |
|
keeps fit in his free time as an avid outdoorsman, and he has surfed |
|
in Hawaii, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and other places around the |
|
world; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his |
|
wife, Kim, and his daughters, Jordyn and Sydney; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dennis Stanek has served residents of West U with |
|
tremendous skill, professionalism, and enthusiasm for four |
|
decades, earning their profound respect and appreciation, and it is |
|
indeed a pleasure to recognize this esteemed Texan for his |
|
contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Lieutenant Dennis Stanek for his 40 |
|
years of service to the West University Place Fire Department and |
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Lieutenant Stanek as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
