| WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss | ||
| with the tragic passing of Cole Edward Overstreet of Livingston on | ||
| September 24, 2021, at the age of 18; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born in Conroe on September 19, 2003, Cole | ||
| Overstreet was the cherished son of Tad and April Overstreet; he | ||
| grew up in The Woodlands and Conroe area with the companionship of | ||
| his sister, Anna, and brother, Benjamin, and he moved with his | ||
| family to the Lakeside Village neighborhood in Livingston in 2016; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Overstreet embraced his new home in Livingston, | ||
| enrolling in Livingston ISD and joining the First Baptist Church of | ||
| Livingston; he was a member of the First Student Ministries youth | ||
| group at his church, and he played the bass drum in the marching | ||
| band at Livingston High School; he was known as a leader and a role | ||
| model to his peers, and he strove to live according to one of his | ||
| favorite quotes from former president Ronald Reagan, "There is no | ||
| limit to the amount of good you can do if you don't care who gets the | ||
| credit"; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth ended far too | ||
| soon, Cole Overstreet was a source of joy and inspiration to all who | ||
| were blessed to know him, and they will forever carry his memory | ||
| close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of | ||
| Cole Edward Overstreet and extend profound condolences to his | ||
| family and friends; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Cole | ||
| Overstreet. | ||
