R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Ja'Naria Jackson of Terrell High School achieved |
|
|
great distinction by winning two gold medals at the 2022 University |
|
|
Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in |
|
|
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, Ms. Jackson |
|
|
turned in an exceptional performance, claiming the state title in |
|
|
the 4A 100 and 200-meter races; in the 100 meters, she clocked in at |
|
|
11.74 seconds, and in the 200 meters, she crossed the line in 23.69 |
|
|
seconds; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, this talented young Texan has |
|
|
ably represented her school and community, and she will cherish her |
|
|
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ja'Naria Jackson on winning two |
|
|
gold medals at the 2022 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Jackson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
