| WHEREAS, Phebe Ellis-Roach is being recognized with the | ||
| Business Award by the YWCA of Lubbock at its Women of Excellence | ||
| reception and dinner on March 9, 2017; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Established in 1989, the Women of Excellence awards | ||
| honor individuals for their contributions as leaders and | ||
| volunteers, highlighting the vital roles that women play in civic | ||
| and professional endeavors in the Lubbock area; and | ||
| WHEREAS, With more than 30 years of experience in the banking | ||
| industry, Ms. Ellis-Roach is currently a senior vice president and | ||
| mortgage lender at PrimeWest Mortgage; she oversees the operations | ||
| of one of the top mortgage lending teams in Lubbock, and she has | ||
| been named a Top Producer by the Texas Mortgage Bankers | ||
| Association; moreover, she has served on the FirstBank & Trust | ||
| Executive Committee and the West Texas Home Builders Association | ||
| Board of Directors; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Ellis-Roach also gives generously of her time | ||
| and talents to a number of civic organizations, including the New | ||
| Legacy Home for Women, the Lubbock Parade of Homes Committee, and | ||
| the American Diabetes Association; she co-chaired the local Go Red | ||
| for Women campaign in 2012, which raised $75,000 for the American | ||
| Heart Association, and took part in the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce | ||
| Total Resource Campaign, which obtained more than $200,000 in | ||
| sponsorships; in addition, she was a member of the city's bond | ||
| election citizens advisory committee in 2012; and | ||
| WHEREAS, With her receipt of a Women of Excellence award, | ||
| Phebe Ellis-Roach joins an elite group of women who have been | ||
| honored by the YWCA of Lubbock, and she is indeed a worthy role | ||
| model for this and future generations; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature congratulate Phebe Ellis-Roach on receiving a 2017 | ||
| Women of Excellence award from the YWCA of Lubbock and extend to her | ||
| sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Ellis-Roach as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
