R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Glenn Family Dental Clinic in Galveston is
  continuing its proud tradition of service to the community under
  the leadership of a new owner, Dr. Gilberto Garcia Jr.; and
         WHEREAS, For many years, Glenn Family Dental Clinic was owned
  and operated by Dr. William L. Glenn with assistance from his wife,
  Paula Glenn; two years ago, as the couple were setting their sights
  on retirement, a longtime colleague of Dr. Glenn recommended that
  he consider bringing Dr. Garcia, a promising new dental school
  graduate, into the practice; since then, Dr. Garcia has worked at
  the clinic under the tutelage of Dr. Glenn, who will continue
  practicing on a part-time basis; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Rio Grande City, Gilberto Garcia
  graduated summa cum laude from The University of Texas-Pan American
  with a degree in biology before earning his doctor of dental surgery
  degree from the UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry; he remained
  at UTHealth as he completed his general practice residency and
  acquired additional experience while volunteering there as a
  clinical assistant professor; during this time, he also worked
  part-time at a Houston dental office; since relocating to Galveston
  to join the staff of Glenn Family Dental Clinic, he has impressed
  Dr. Glenn with his strong work ethic, his deep concern for the
  clinic's patients, and his knowledge of the latest dental
  procedures and techniques; and
         WHEREAS, Glenn Family Dental Clinic has long been a valuable
  resource to the Galveston community, and its legacy of
  compassionate service is in good hands with the transfer of
  ownership to Dr. Gilberto Garcia Jr.; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Gilberto Garcia Jr. on
  becoming the new owner of Glenn Family Dental Clinic and extend to
  him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Garcia as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
