| WHEREAS, Ashton Canida of Panhandle High School was presented | ||
| with the Lone Star FFA Degree at the 89th annual Texas FFA State | ||
| Convention held July 10-14, 2017, in Corpus Christi; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The highest degree of membership awarded at the | ||
| state level, the Lone Star FFA Degree recognizes members who have | ||
| distinguished themselves by demonstrating exceptional commitment | ||
| to the organization as well as outstanding leadership skills; in | ||
| addition to completing the agricultural science course | ||
| requirements, recipients must also maintain a supervised | ||
| agricultural experience program, perform community service, and | ||
| participate in a number of events, conventions, meetings, and | ||
| activities above the chapter level; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ashton Canida has brought great pride to his family, | ||
| school, and community, and he may indeed look with optimism and | ||
| anticipation toward the myriad opportunities that lie ahead; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Ashton Canida | ||
| on his receipt of the Lone Star FFA Degree and extend to him sincere | ||
| best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Canida as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
