R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Fred Moses of Plano was elected to the Collin
  College Board of Trustees in May 2017; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to higher education, Mr. Moses previously
  served Collin College as a member of the President's Circle and the
  Collin College Foundation Board; he and his wife, Mazzie,
  established an endowment that funds an annual scholarship, and the
  institution recognized their contributions with the Living Legend
  Award; moreover, he is the recipient of the Dallas Baptist
  University Tom Landry Leadership Award; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Moses has also benefited the community in
  numerous other leadership roles, including chair of the Plano
  Chamber of Commerce, the Plano Economic Development Board, and the
  Plano Community Home; in addition, he has served on the Plano
  Independent School District Strategic Planning Finance Committee,
  the Texas General Services Commission, and the Dallas/Fort Worth
  Minority Supplier Development Council, among other boards and
  commissions; he is the immediate past chair of the Collin County
  Republican Party, and he serves as an associate minister and as vice
  chair of the deacon board at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church; and
         WHEREAS, A respected member of the business community,
  Mr. Moses began his career with General Electric and went on to
  found Plano-based Telecom Electric Supply Company; he and his firm
  have received numerous accolades, among them the Christian Business
  Leadership Award from the CEO Institute and the Minority Vendor of
  the Year Award from the Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Business
  Development Council, and the Plano Chamber of Commerce named its
  Fred Moses Minority Business Development Award in his honor; he
  holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of
  Bridgeport; and
         WHEREAS, Fred Moses has long worked to advance the vital
  mission of Collin College, and he is sure to make an even greater
  positive impact in his new position; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Fred Moses on
  his election to the Collin College Board of Trustees and extend to
  him sincere best wishes for a successful tenure in office; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Moses as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
