| WHEREAS, Elizabeth Eguía-García has been named executive | ||
| director of the Maestro Entrepreneur Center and vice president of | ||
| small business for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, The daughter and granddaughter of small business | ||
| owners, Elí Eguía-García brings to her new positions a wealth of | ||
| knowledge and experience from her two decades in the nonprofit | ||
| sector, during which time she worked in fund-raising and public | ||
| relations for both public and private organizations; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This esteemed professional holds a bachelor's | ||
| degree from Our Lady of the Lake University and a master's degree | ||
| from St. Mary's University; in addition, she completed executive | ||
| leadership programs with the Harvard University Kennedy School of | ||
| Government and the National Hispana Leadership Institute; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the years, Elí Eguía-García's dedication and | ||
| commitment to excellence have greatly benefited her fellow Texans, | ||
| and the expertise she has acquired along the way will serve her well | ||
| as she takes on these challenging new roles; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Elizabeth | ||
| Eguía-García on being named executive director of the Maestro | ||
| Entrepreneur Center and vice president of small business for the | ||
| San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and extend to her sincere | ||
| best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Eguía-García as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
