R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  death of Hermann Buschor of Houston on September 1, 2016, at the age
  of 80; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Buschor was born in Horgen, Switzerland, in
  February 1936 and received a Catholic education at Kollegium Maria
  Hilf in the town of Schwyz; after graduating from Zurich Trade
  School, he emigrated to the United States and studied financial
  analysis and marketing at New York University; and
         WHEREAS, He began his career by working in the transportation
  and fashion industries in New York, but he soon focused his
  professional endeavors in the oil and gas industry, and over the
  years, his work took him all over the world, including to Russia,
  Indonesia, Malaysia, Africa, and South America, as well as
  throughout the United States and Canada; and
         WHEREAS, A man beloved for his wise advice and moral support,
  he met the love of his life, Joan Chmiel, in New York; they enjoyed
  their world travels before they came to Texas and settled in
  Houston; and
         WHEREAS, In his leisure time, Mr. Buschor found pleasure in a
  number of pursuits, including tennis, oil painting, gardening, and
  reading, and he was the Commandery Receiver, Southwest, of the
  Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem; he was
  also a strong advocate for education and languages and worked to
  foster good communication and understanding among all people; and
         WHEREAS, Although Hermann Buschor is greatly missed, this
  kind and generous man has left his family and friends with many
  cherished memories, and he will forever hold a special place in
  their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Hermann Buschor and
  extend heartfelt sympathy to his wife, Joan Buschor, to the other
  members of his family, and to his many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Hermann
  Buschor.
