| WHEREAS, Graduation from high school is one of life's pivotal | ||
| milestones, and Elijah Escamilla is celebrating that significant | ||
| achievement as a member of the Class of 2017 at the Americas High | ||
| School Libertas Academy in El Paso; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Escamilla is among the students who have | ||
| completed their secondary education in the academy's Advanced | ||
| Academics Program, which features specialized curricula focused on | ||
| law, government, and public administration; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The son of Obed Escamilla and Leticia Escamilla, | ||
| Mr. Escamilla ranks in the top 10 percent of his class and is a | ||
| member of both the National Honor Society and the National | ||
| Technical Honor Society; he has further distinguished himself as a | ||
| student-athlete, and in addition to running track, he played on the | ||
| football team, helping lead the Trailblazers to district and | ||
| bi-district championships and earning second team all-district | ||
| honors; after graduation, he plans to attend Texas A&M University | ||
| and to pursue a career as an officer in the military; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this | ||
| outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join his family and | ||
| friends in recognizing him as he embarks on a future bright with | ||
| promise; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Elijah Escamilla on the occasion of | ||
| his graduation from the Americas High School Libertas Academy and | ||
| extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and | ||
| happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Escamilla as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
