| WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt by | ||
| the family and friends of Clayton David Winkles of Arlington, a | ||
| remarkable young man whose life was cut tragically short on March | ||
| 26, 2017, at the age of 18; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born on December 28, 1998, Clayton Winkles was the | ||
| pride and joy of his parents, Allan and Tracy Winkles; a senior at | ||
| Arlington High School, he pitched for the Colts baseball team and | ||
| hoped to have a career one day as either a baseball player or game | ||
| warden; in addition, he belonged to the school's bass fishing club | ||
| and the FFA, and he cherished the many friendships he formed with | ||
| his classmates; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Strong in his faith, Mr. Winkles was actively | ||
| involved in Young Life and in the youth group at Gospel City Church, | ||
| and he demonstrated his commitment to his beliefs by lending a | ||
| helping hand to anyone in need; along with his devoted parents, his | ||
| circle of loved ones included his brother, Connor, and he also | ||
| enjoyed the companionship of his dog, Cutter; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Although the loss of one so full of promise brings | ||
| tremendous heartache, Clayton Winkles was a blessing in the lives | ||
| of those who were fortunate enough to know him, and this kind and | ||
| caring young man will remain forever in their hearts; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Clayton David | ||
| Winkles and extend deepest condolences to all who mourn his | ||
| passing; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Clayton | ||
| Winkles. | ||
