	H.R. No. 2401



	R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, In her diligent service as Capitol nurse
	practitioner, Ellen Fontana has provided expert assistance to
	numerous public officials and state employees during the 85th Texas
	Legislature, thereby helping to ensure the overall health and
	productivity of the legislative community; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Fontana has worked as a registered nurse for 22
	years and as a nurse practitioner for the past 15, specializing in
	adult health; she trained at Loyola University Chicago, where she
	received her bachelor's and master's degrees; after serving as a
	nurse practitioner at the University of Chicago, she has spent the
	majority of her career in the Lone Star State; and
	WHEREAS, Before accepting the position of Capitol nurse
	practitioner, Ms. Fontana primarily cared for underserved Texas
	residents, including patients with mental illness and HIV; a member
	of Texas Nurse Practitioners, she regularly volunteers as a
	preceptor for nursing students from several local universities; in
	her off-duty hours, she enjoys spending time with her family,
	exercising, and being outdoors; and
	WHEREAS, While meeting the sometimes exhausting demands of
	the legislative session, the members of the Capitol community are
	fortunate to benefit from the skill and expertise of Ellen Fontana,
	and she is indeed deserving of recognition for her significant
	contributions; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
	Legislature hereby honor Ellen Fontana for her service as Capitol
	nurse practitioner and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
	future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for Ms. Fontana as an expression of high regard by the
	Texas House of Representatives.
