R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
|
of Charles Ray Williams of Irving, who passed away on May 19, 2011, |
|
|
at the age of 81; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born on August 20, 1929, in Dallas to Ernest Ray and |
|
|
Addye Mae Murray Williams, Chuck Williams established a notable |
|
|
career with AT&T, spending 42 years with the company before |
|
|
retiring; he was also active in his community as a director of a |
|
|
city baseball league and through his involvement in the Boy Scouts; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Williams enjoyed the |
|
|
love and support of his wife, Mable, with whom he shared 62 |
|
|
rewarding years of marriage, and the couple raised four children, |
|
|
Sandy, Johnny, Jim, and Kenny; affectionately known as "Papa" by |
|
|
his grandchildren and "Grampy" by his great-grandchildren, he was a |
|
|
devoted family man who loved to welcome people into his home; his |
|
|
favorite pastimes included solitaire and fishing at the coast, and |
|
|
he was a big fan of John Wayne movies and the Dallas Cowboys; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Chuck Williams possessed a generosity of spirit that |
|
|
expressed itself in myriad ways, and many lives were enriched by his |
|
|
warmth and kindness; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
|
of Charles Ray Williams and extend sincere sympathy to the members |
|
|
of his family: to his wife, Mable Jean Reding Williams; to his |
|
|
daughter, Sandy Kisinger, and her husband, Clyde; to his sons, |
|
|
Johnny Williams and his wife, Cindy, Jim Williams and his wife, |
|
|
Susan, and Kenny Williams and his wife, Cathy; to his seven |
|
|
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and to his other |
|
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Chuck |
|
|
Williams. |
