| WHEREAS, Dashuang Liang has been named co-valedictorian of | ||
| the Class of 2015 at Lee High School in Houston along with her twin | ||
| sister, Xiao-Shuang Liang, and she indeed merits special | ||
| recognition for receiving this significant honor; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Earning the title of co-valedictorian requires not | ||
| only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to | ||
| the highest academic standards; in securing her place as one of the | ||
| two top ranking students in her class, "Amy" Liang demonstrated a | ||
| thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her | ||
| attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement | ||
| of a notable high school career; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Passionate about computer science, Ms. Liang | ||
| tirelessly pursued her goals by taking Massachusetts Institute of | ||
| Technology OpenCourseWare and edX classes; she has excelled in | ||
| debate and proven herself a leader among her peers by cofounding Key | ||
| Club International, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, | ||
| and Junior State of America at her school; furthermore, she | ||
| organized a tutoring program for students struggling to pass | ||
| standardized tests and helped collect donation money for UNICEF | ||
| every Halloween; and | ||
| WHEREAS, During her years at Lee High School, Amy Liang has | ||
| earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates, | ||
| and her exceptional scholastic ability and commitment to excellence | ||
| have opened the way to a bright and promising future for this | ||
| outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Dashuang Liang, co-valedictorian | ||
| of the Lee High School Class of 2015, and extend to her sincere best | ||
| wishes for continued success as she begins the next exciting | ||
| chapter of her life; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Liang as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
