WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans | ||
have a stake, and those individuals who devote themselves to the | ||
development of our young people are helping to ensure that the | ||
future of the Lone Star State rests in capable hands; and | ||
WHEREAS, One such educator is Marla Wilkins, a 9th- through | ||
12th-grade science teacher at Juan Seguin High School, who has | ||
demonstrated her commitment to her students by achieving a perfect | ||
record of attendance for the 2016-2017 academic year; this is her | ||
second consecutive year to post such a record; and | ||
WHEREAS, During the 12 years that Ms. Wilkins has taught at | ||
Seguin High, she has worked tirelessly to equip her pupils with the | ||
knowledge and skills that will enable them to become responsible | ||
and productive citizens; and | ||
WHEREAS, Providing for the diverse educational needs of our | ||
future leaders is an undertaking of paramount importance, and Marla | ||
Wilkins embodies the spirit of service and dedication that are the | ||
hallmarks of a good teacher; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby commend Marla Wilkins on her perfect attendance | ||
during the 2016-2017 school year and extend to her sincere best | ||
wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||

ESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Ms. Wilkins as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
