R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans
  have a stake, and those individuals who devote themselves to the
  development of our young people are helping to ensure that the
  future of the Lone Star State rests in capable hands; and
         WHEREAS, One such educator is Marla Wilkins, a 9th- through
  12th-grade science teacher at Juan Seguin High School, who has
  demonstrated her commitment to her students by achieving a perfect
  record of attendance for the 2016-2017 academic year; this is her
  second consecutive year to post such a record; and
         WHEREAS, During the 12 years that Ms. Wilkins has taught at
  Seguin High, she has worked tirelessly to equip her pupils with the
  knowledge and skills that will enable them to become responsible
  and productive citizens; and
         WHEREAS, Providing for the diverse educational needs of our
  future leaders is an undertaking of paramount importance, and Marla
  Wilkins embodies the spirit of service and dedication that are the
  hallmarks of a good teacher; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Marla Wilkins on her perfect attendance
  during the 2016-2017 school year and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         R
  ESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Wilkins as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
