R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Terry Winter of Kountze on May 4, 2013, at the age of 73; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Winter was born to Phyllis and Cyril Winter in |
|
El Paso on September 30, 1939; a United States Army veteran, he |
|
worked with Eastex Pulp and Paper for 15 years, spent 20 years as a |
|
shrimp fisherman, and retired as a correctional officer with the |
|
Texas Department of Criminal Justice; Mr. Winter was a valued, |
|
longtime parishioner of Holy Spirit Catholic Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Terry Winter found a life partner in Martha Winter, |
|
with whom he enjoyed a rewarding marriage of more than five decades; |
|
the couple became the proud parents of a son, Richard, and over the |
|
years, their family has grown to include four grandchildren and two |
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Terry Winter treasured the time he spent in the |
|
company of his family and friends, and those he leaves behind will |
|
in turn cherish their memories of this kind and caring man; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Terry Winter and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|
Martha Winter; to his son, Richard Kerry Winter, and his wife, |
|
Sydney; to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; to his |
|
siblings, John Glasgow and his wife, Nancy, Linda Fetters and her |
|
husband, Tom, and Judy Valey and her husband, Ed; to his in-laws, |
|
Ida and Phyllis Glasgow, Margaret, Wilma, and Robert Langston, and |
|
Bo, Juanita, John, and Becky Landis; and to his other relatives and |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Terry |
|
Winter. |
