R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Adam Mendoza of Pilot Point High School once again
  reached the pinnacle of success by winning the gold medal in the 3A
  boys' 800-meter run at the 2019 University Interscholastic League
  Track & Field State Meet; and
         WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at
  Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 10 and 11, Mr. Mendoza turned
  in a notable performance in his fourth and final year at the
  contest, claiming his third consecutive state title in the
  800-meter run in a time of 1 minute, 57.35 seconds; and
         WHEREAS, Following graduation, Mr. Mendoza plans to continue
  running cross-country and track at North Central Texas College; and
         WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
  high school track and field athletes, Adam Mendoza has brought
  great pride to his school and to his many supporters in the local
  community, and he will cherish the memories of his outstanding
  accomplishments for years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Adam Mendoza on his first-place
  finish in the 3A boys' 800-meter run at the 2019 UIL Track & Field
  State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Mendoza as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
