R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The citizens of Garland have greatly benefited from
  the dedicated service of Stephen W. Stanley, who stepped down after
  two terms on the Garland City Council in May 2017; and
         WHEREAS, A resident of Garland for more than 25 years,
  Mr. Stanley was elected to the council in May 2013; as a Realtor, he
  has been active in the area's business and civic community for most
  of his life, holding membership in local professional associations,
  athletic booster clubs, and other organizations; he previously
  served on the city council of Sachse, where he resided for several
  years, and on the board of directors of the Sachse Chamber of
  Commerce; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Stanley enjoys the love
  and support of his wife, Daphne; and
         WHEREAS, Stephen Stanley has rendered exemplary service to
  the city of Garland through his work on the city council, and his
  achievements have helped to make his community an even better place
  in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Stephen W. Stanley on his retirement from
  the Garland City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further

  ESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Stanley as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
