| WHEREAS, Detective Ronald L. Iscaro retired from the Dallas | ||
| Police Department on May 2, 2017, drawing to a close a notable | ||
| tenure that spanned three and a half decades; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ron Iscaro joined the department as a police officer | ||
| on April 5, 1982, and he went on to earn promotion to detective; at | ||
| the time of his retirement, he was assigned to the Northeast | ||
| Investigative Unit; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A highly decorated peace officer, Mr. Iscaro was | ||
| accorded the Theodore Roosevelt Award and the Police Shield Award | ||
| after being shot while on duty in 1983, and over the years he also | ||
| received 19 commendations; he further distinguished himself as a | ||
| member of the Dallas Police Choir, singing at area nursing homes and | ||
| rehabilitation centers, and he plans to accompany the ensemble to | ||
| Washington, D.C., later this year to perform a tribute to police | ||
| officers killed in the line of duty; in all his endeavors, he enjoys | ||
| the love and support of his wife, Ann; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ron Iscaro exemplified the highest ideals of the law | ||
| enforcement profession throughout his career, and his unwavering | ||
| dedication to the safety and well-being of his fellow citizens has | ||
| earned him the lasting respect and admiration of all who know him; | ||
| now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Ronald L. Iscaro on his retirement | ||
| from the Dallas Police Department and extend to him sincere best | ||
| wishes for continued happiness and fulfillment; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Detective Iscaro as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
