H.R. No. 2102

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jasiah Patterson of West Oso High School was honored
for his exceptional achievements during the 2014-2015 season by
being chosen a member of the first team in the Corpus Christi
Caller-Times All-South Texas basketball awards selections; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Patterson led the Bears with 13.1 points per
game and 6 rebounds per contest, helping the team to advance to the
regional quarterfinals of the University Interscholastic League
state playoffs; a talented shooter, he made 55 three-point shots
and was named the District 31-4A Co-Most Valuable Player for his
impressive senior season; moreover, he was lauded for his efforts
on the defensive end of the court, where he was often responsible
for guarding the opposing team's tallest player; and
WHEREAS, The All-South Texas award provides fitting
acknowledgement of the talent, hard work, and commitment to
excellence demonstrated by this exemplary student-athlete, and he
may take justifiable pride in his accomplishments; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jasiah Patterson on being chosen a
member of the first team in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times
All-South Texas basketball awards selections and extend to him
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Patterson as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
