| WHEREAS, The eBridge Center for Business and | ||
| Commercialization is making important contributions to the | ||
| economic vitality of Brownsville and the Rio Grande Valley; and | ||
| WHEREAS, One of the largest startup incubators and | ||
| entrepreneurial resource centers in the Rio Grande Valley, the | ||
| eBridge Center works to commercialize scalable businesses, create | ||
| local jobs, establish entrepreneurial equity, and develop an open | ||
| and inclusive ecosystem for all entrepreneurs; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The eBridge Center offers business incubation | ||
| programming from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley | ||
| Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center, and it encompasses | ||
| a U.S. Patent and Trademark Resource Center, the Small Business | ||
| Development Center, the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center, | ||
| Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Veterans Business | ||
| Outreach Center, Nonprofit Resource Center, and the Blueprint Lab | ||
| Prototyping Space for research and development of emerging | ||
| industries; in addition, the eBridge Center has received a Soft | ||
| Landings designation from InBIA, and it is home to the StartUp Texas | ||
| Accelerator Program; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The establishment of the eBridge Center for Business | ||
| and Commercialization was made possible through a collaborative | ||
| partnership between the Brownsville Community Improvement | ||
| Corporation, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the City of | ||
| Brownsville, the United States Economic Development | ||
| Administration, the United States Small Business Administration, | ||
| and the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The eBridge Center for Business and | ||
| Commercialization has benefited the community by providing | ||
| essential support to area businesses and entrepreneurs, and the | ||
| organization is indeed deserving of special recognition for its | ||
| many achievements; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby recognize the eBridge Center for Business and | ||
| Commercialization for its contributions to the Brownsville and Rio | ||
| Grande Valley communities and extend to all those associated with | ||
| the organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the eBridge Center as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
