WHEREAS, Patrick Piperi, a senior at The Woodlands High | ||
School, achieved great distinction by winning the gold medal in the | ||
6A boys' shot put at the 2019 University Interscholastic League | ||
Track & Field State Meet; and | ||
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at | ||
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 10 and 11, Mr. Piperi turned | ||
in a notable performance, recording a throw of 64 feet, 6 inches, to | ||
clinch the 6A state title; in addition to his shot put victory, he | ||
placed fifth in the discus with a distance of 173 feet, 3 inches; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, Following graduation, Mr. Piperi plans to attend | ||
The University of Texas at Austin, where he will compete in throwing | ||
events for the Longhorns; and | ||
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for | ||
high school track and field athletes, Patrick Piperi has ably | ||
represented his school and community, and he will cherish the | ||
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Patrick Piperi on winning the 6A | ||
boys' shot put gold medal at the 2019 UIL Track & Field State Meet | ||
and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be | ||
it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Piperi as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
