R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Patrick Piperi, a senior at The Woodlands High
  School, achieved great distinction by winning the gold medal in the
  6A boys' shot put at the 2019 University Interscholastic League
  Track & Field State Meet; and
         WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at
  Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 10 and 11, Mr. Piperi turned
  in a notable performance, recording a throw of 64 feet, 6 inches, to
  clinch the 6A state title; in addition to his shot put victory, he
  placed fifth in the discus with a distance of 173 feet, 3 inches;
  and
         WHEREAS, Following graduation, Mr. Piperi plans to attend
  The University of Texas at Austin, where he will compete in throwing
  events for the Longhorns; and
         WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
  high school track and field athletes, Patrick Piperi has ably
  represented his school and community, and he will cherish the
  memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Patrick Piperi on winning the 6A
  boys' shot put gold medal at the 2019 UIL Track & Field State Meet
  and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Piperi as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
