R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Carol Lala of Victoria is retiring from the Goliad |
|
Independent School District on May 26, 2017, drawing to a close an |
|
exemplary career in education that has spanned four and a half |
|
decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Lala earned her teaching degree from Sam |
|
Houston State University in 1972, and later that year, she joined |
|
the faculty at Goliad Elementary School, embarking on what would |
|
become a long and rewarding tenure with the district; a designated |
|
bilingual instructor, she has transitioned easily between teaching |
|
kindergarten and first grade, always willing to serve where she was |
|
most needed; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding educator has demonstrated an |
|
unyielding commitment to academic excellence, as well as a genuine |
|
concern for the well-being of her current and former students, who |
|
often seek her out within the community years after leaving her |
|
classroom; furthermore, she has gained the lasting respect and |
|
admiration of her colleagues, to whom she has been a valued source |
|
of wisdom and guidance; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Lala enjoys the love and |
|
support of her husband, Dennis, and she is the proud mother of two |
|
daughters, Tiffany and Windy; in retirement, she looks forward to |
|
traveling and spending time with her family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Carol Lala embodies the compassion, dedication, and |
|
spirit of service that are the hallmarks of a good teacher, and |
|
though her presence will surely be missed at Goliad ISD, she may |
|
reflect with pride on the positive difference she has made in the |
|
lives of countless young Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Carol Lala on her retirement from |
|
the Goliad Independent School District and extend to her sincere |
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Lala as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
