R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Alfred Pomerenke of McGregor, who died on April 4, 2011, at the |
|
age of 77; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on July 12, 1933, Mr. Pomerenke attended |
|
McGregor High School and later served in the United States Army; in |
|
1953, he married the former Betty Goodwin, and they shared nearly |
|
six decades together and raised three children; most of his career |
|
was spent with McGregor Milling and Grain, where he was employed as |
|
a truck driver and a maintenance worker until his retirement in |
|
2000; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Pomerenke was a member of the American Legion |
|
and the McGregor Volunteer Fire Department, and he took great |
|
satisfaction in his hobbies of fishing, hunting, and vegetable |
|
gardening; and |
|
WHEREAS, Alfred Pomerenke enjoyed a life that was rich in the |
|
intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those |
|
who held him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Alfred Pomerenke and |
|
extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
wife, Betty Pomerenke; to his sons, Bruce Pomerenke and his wife, |
|
Kathy, and Steve Pomerenke and his wife, Cheryl; to his daughter, |
|
Dana Pomerenke; to his grandchildren, Tammy Fleming, Tyson |
|
Charlson, and Mindy, Zeb, and Zach Pomerenke; to his |
|
great-granddaughter, Olivia Fleming; to his brother, Lynn |
|
Pomerenke; to his sisters, Delores "Sis" Johnson and Anita "Nicky" |
|
Burgess and her husband, J. B.; and to his other relatives and |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Alfred |
|
Pomerenke. |
