WHEREAS, Demonstrating skill and determination, the | ||
Kirbyville High School junior varsity tennis team competed in the | ||
Woodville JV Invitational Tournament on March 20, 2015; and | ||
WHEREAS, The Wildcats played against six other schools, and a | ||
number of players made a fine showing in their divisions; in boys' | ||
doubles, Tyler Martin and Justin Odom earned first place, and in | ||
boys' singles, Rodrigo Briz placed third; and | ||
WHEREAS, In the girls' doubles division, Cassity Dupree and | ||
Emma Hughes captured first place, Yasmin Gomez and Shelby Shirley | ||
took second, and Mia Baker and Paige Simons placed third; in girls' | ||
singles, Gwendolyne Bronson was the runner-up, and Mikah Boyd | ||
finished third; and | ||
WHEREAS, The talented student-athletes of the Kirbyville | ||
junior varsity tennis team have brought credit to their school | ||
through their success on the court, and they may take justifiable | ||
pride in their outstanding accomplishments; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate the Kirbyville High School junior | ||
varsity tennis team on its performance in the Woodville JV | ||
Invitational Tournament and extend to the team's players sincere | ||
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
