R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Zachary Jacobus, a junior at R. L. Paschal High
  School in Fort Worth, earned great distinction at the 2021
  University Interscholastic League Academic State Meet, held from
  April 30 to May 1; and
         WHEREAS, Competing against some of the brightest students in
  the Lone Star State, Mr. Jacobus won a gold medal for his
  outstanding performance in 6A chemistry; he scored 14 points more
  than his closest competitor to capture the state title, becoming
  the first academic state champion from the Fort Worth Independent
  School District in five years; this exemplary student prepared for
  the competition under the guidance of science team coach Andrew
  Brinker; and
         WHEREAS, Through his hard work and commitment to excellence,
  Zachary Jacobus has distinguished himself in the state's premier
  high school academic competition, and his accomplishments are a
  source of great pride to his school and community; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Zachary Jacobus on earning the gold
  medal in chemistry at the 2021 UIL 6A Academic State Meet and extend
  to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Jacobus as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
