R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Paula Jean Ard is retiring from the Weatherford
Independent School District on May 21, 2019, after three and a half
decades as an art teacher; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Ard first joined Weatherford ISD in 1984, when
she accepted a job at Hall Middle School; she went on to work at
Curtis Elementary School and Tison Middle School before becoming a
member of the faculty at the Weatherford High School Ninth Grade
Center; and
WHEREAS, Respected and admired by her peers, Ms. Ard has
received numerous accolades in the course of her career, including
four Teacher of the Year awards and recognition from the Texas Art
Education Association; and
WHEREAS, A dedicated and inspiring educator, Paula Ard has
worked to instill in her students a lifelong love of the arts, and
she may indeed take pride in her invaluable contributions to
Weatherford ISD as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her
life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Paula Jean Ard on her retirement
from the Weatherford Independent School District and extend to her
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Ard as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
