| WHEREAS, Christine Sanchez has been named salutatorian of the | ||
| Class of 2019 at Tuloso-Midway High School in Corpus Christi, and | ||
| she indeed merits special recognition for receiving this | ||
| significant honor; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only | ||
| intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the | ||
| highest academic standards; in securing her place as one of the two | ||
| top ranking students in her class, Ms. Sanchez demonstrated a | ||
| thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her | ||
| attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement | ||
| of a notable high school career; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The daughter of Roel O. Sanchez and Juanita | ||
| M. Sanchez, Ms. Sanchez has participated in a number of | ||
| extracurricular pursuits during her high school career, holding | ||
| leadership positions in band, academic decathlon, and student | ||
| council; she has further devoted her time to benefiting her | ||
| community through volunteer efforts with Nueces Delta Preserve, | ||
| Coastal Bend Blood Center, The Ark Assessment Center & Emergency | ||
| Shelter for Youth, and St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic | ||
| Church; following graduation, she plans to study anthropology at | ||
| The University of Texas at Austin; and | ||
| WHEREAS, During her years at Tuloso-Midway High School, | ||
| Christine Sanchez has earned the respect and admiration of both her | ||
| teachers and classmates, and her exceptional scholastic ability and | ||
| commitment to excellence have opened the way to a bright and | ||
| promising future for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, | ||
| be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Christine Sanchez on graduating as | ||
| salutatorian of the Tuloso-Midway High School Class of 2019 and | ||
| extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she | ||
| begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Sanchez as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
