H.R. No. 1530

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Daniel Todd, the band director at Crane High School,
has been recognized for his many contributions to music education
with the 2017 Marcia McEntyre Zoffuto Hero Award; and
WHEREAS, Established in 2009 in memory of award-winning band
director Marcia Zoffuto, this prestigious honor is bestowed on
outstanding secondary music teachers in West Texas; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of New Mexico State University, Daniel
Todd has been with the Crane Independent School District for 24
years and has spent the last 15 as head band director at Crane High;
under his exemplary leadership, the Golden Crane band has received
University Interscholastic League Sweepstakes Awards every year
and advanced to the UIL State Marching Band Contest seven
consecutive times; and
WHEREAS, Through his exceptional commitment to music
education, Daniel Todd has made a positive difference in the lives
of many young Texans, and his contributions have earned him the
lasting respect and admiration of his students and colleagues
alike; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Daniel Todd on his receipt of the
2017 Marcia McEntyre Zoffuto Hero Award and extend to him sincere
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Todd as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
