R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, No words can soften the pain of losing a loved one,
  but memories of a life well lived may help to comfort those saddened
  by the death of Hilda Duran Tirres of El Paso on January 6, 2019, at
  the age of 88; and
         WHEREAS, A native of El Paso, the former Hilda Duran was born
  on October 4, 1930; she attended Ysleta High School, where she was
  named Who's Who in PE in the school yearbook and exhibited great
  musical talent as a member of the band and the drum corps; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Tirres enjoyed the love and support of her
  husband, Ramon, whom she had known since childhood, and they shared
  a rewarding marriage that spanned more than six decades; she took
  great pride in their children, Anna, Ramon, Daisy, Rene, and
  Suzanne, and with the passing years she had the pleasure of seeing
  her family grow to include 10 grandchildren and 11
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A devout Catholic, Mrs. Tirres was a devoted
  congregant and volunteer at her church; she worked as the secretary
  at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School and later served in a
  number of roles with San Elizario Independent School District; in
  addition, she was instrumental in the operation of her family's
  farm, and in her leisure hours, she delighted in cheering on the
  Dallas Cowboys; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to her family and her faith, Hilda
  Tirres earned the lasting respect and admiration of all who were
  privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Hilda Duran Tirres and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  husband, Ramon Tirres Sr.; to her children, Anna Fuentes and her
  husband, Jesus, Suzanne Horan, Ramon Tirres Jr. and his wife, Rita,
  and Rene Tirres and his wife, Sandra; to her grandchildren and
  great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Hilda
  Tirres.
