| WHEREAS, The Honorable Ida Hernandez Brazell is retiring as | ||
| an associate judge for the Fifth Administrative Judicial Region on | ||
| August 17, 2017, concluding more than two decades of service to the | ||
| people of South Texas; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Judge Brazell completed her bachelor's degree at The | ||
| University of Texas in 1973; four years later, she graduated from | ||
| the UT School of Law; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Licensed in 1978, Judge Brazell has been admitted to | ||
| practice in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Texas, and | ||
| the U.S. District & Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Texas; | ||
| she has served for 23 years with the Fifth Region, which covers | ||
| Brooks, Cameron, Duval, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Kenedy, | ||
| Kleberg, Nueces, Starr, and Willacy Counties; as associate judge | ||
| for Title IV-D Court No. 24 in Corpus Christi, she has carefully | ||
| decided a host of child support cases; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Judge Brazell has greatly benefited her fellow | ||
| citizens through her dedicated service to the Fifth Administrative | ||
| Judicial Region, and as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of | ||
| her life, she may indeed reflect with pride on her many | ||
| contributions; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the Honorable | ||
| Ida Hernandez Brazell on her retirement from the Fifth | ||
| Administrative Judicial Region and extend to her sincere best | ||
| wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Judge Brazell as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
