| WHEREAS, The 85th birthday of an esteemed Texan is truly | ||
| cause for celebration, and Velma Wiethorn reached that notable | ||
| milestone in her life on March 22, 2011; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born on that special day in 1926, Mrs. Wiethorn has | ||
| lived on a farm in McGregor throughout her life; she shared many | ||
| happy years of marriage with Gilbert Wiethorn before his passing, | ||
| and the couple were blessed with three children; today, she also | ||
| enjoys the love and affection of 10 grandchildren and three | ||
| great-grandchildren; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A woman of abiding faith, Mrs. Wiethorn is a valued | ||
| member of Zion Lutheran Church; she maintains an active lifestyle | ||
| and attends weekly water aerobics classes at the YMCA; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Velma Wiethorn is a source of joy and inspiration to | ||
| her family and friends, and it is a pleasure to honor her on eight | ||
| and a half decades of life well lived; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Velma Wiethorn on her 85th birthday | ||
| and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, | ||
| be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mrs. Wiethorn as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
