  H.R. No. 1400
         WHEREAS, The 85th birthday of an esteemed Texan is truly
  cause for celebration, and Velma Wiethorn reached that notable
  milestone in her life on March 22, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Born on that special day in 1926, Mrs. Wiethorn has
  lived on a farm in McGregor throughout her life; she shared many
  happy years of marriage with Gilbert Wiethorn before his passing,
  and the couple were blessed with three children; today, she also
  enjoys the love and affection of 10 grandchildren and three
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of abiding faith, Mrs. Wiethorn is a valued
  member of Zion Lutheran Church; she maintains an active lifestyle
  and attends weekly water aerobics classes at the YMCA; and
         WHEREAS, Velma Wiethorn is a source of joy and inspiration to
  her family and friends, and it is a pleasure to honor her on eight
  and a half decades of life well lived; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Velma Wiethorn on her 85th birthday
  and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Wiethorn as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
