R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Charlotte Ramsey of Cedar Park retired from Pleasant |
|
Hill Elementary School in Leander in 2011, drawing to a close a |
|
distinguished career as an educator that spanned four decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Ramsey began teaching on a Native American |
|
reservation in Oklahoma in 1971; she joined the faculty of an |
|
elementary school in Cement, Oklahoma, in 1977 and taught there |
|
until 1981, when she began her seven-year tenure with that state's |
|
Ninnekah public school system; after briefly working in the |
|
insurance business, she returned to education, beginning her |
|
employment with the Leander Independent School District in 1991; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of the next two decades, Ms. Ramsey |
|
taught at both Whitestone and Pleasant Hill Elementary Schools in |
|
Leander; she had the pleasure of seeing multiple sets of siblings |
|
pass through her classroom, and she served as a mentor to many of |
|
her fellow teachers; and |
|
WHEREAS, Charlotte Ramsey has demonstrated an unwavering |
|
commitment to her students, and her hard work and diligence have |
|
made a positive difference in the lives of countless young people; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Charlotte |
|
Ramsey on her retirement from Pleasant Hill Elementary School and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Ramsey as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
