R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
  of Johanna Douglas Guzman, who passed away on February 7, 2023, at
  the age of 70; and
         WHEREAS, The former "Jobie" Douglas was born to Edward and
  Maxine Douglas on January 27, 1953, in Corpus Christi, and she grew
  up with two brothers, Edward and Paul; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Guzman was employed for more than three decades
  with Texas Associates Insurors, where she found great fulfillment
  in her work and made many dear friends; in her leisure time, she
  liked gardening, playing softball, and watching baseball; a woman
  of faith, she participated in the Altar Guild at Christ Episcopal
  Church; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Guzman enjoyed the love
  and support of her husband, Richard Guzman, and she took great pride
  in her children, Jennifer and Rick; with the passing years, she had
  the privilege of becoming "Nonna" to her five grandchildren,
  Anthony, Hannah, Kiersten, Jacqueline, and Kaylin, as well as a
  great-granddaughter, Ella; and
         WHEREAS, While her loss is difficult to bear, Jobie Guzman
  leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far
  richer for having known her, and she will always hold a treasured
  place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Johanna Douglas
  Guzman and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family:
  to her husband, Richard Guzman; to her daughter, Jennifer Guerrero,
  and son-in-law, Lance Guerrero; to her son, Richard Guzman, and
  daughter-in-law, Tia Guzman; to her grandchildren, Anthony,
  Hannah, and Jacqueline Guerrero and Kiersten and Kaylin Guzman; to
  her great-granddaughter, Ella Grace Guerrero; to her brother, Paul
  Douglas; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jobie
  Guzman.
