WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories | ||
of Danny Lee Knight Sr. of Waxahachie, who passed away on April 9, | ||
2021, at the age of 66; and | ||
WHEREAS, The son of Bud and Ethel Mae "Cricket" Knight, Danny | ||
Knight was born on August 31, 1954, in Wichita Falls and grew up in | ||
the town of Petty with five siblings, Bobby, Maxine, Betty, Buddy, | ||
and Kathy; he graduated from West Lamar High School in 1973; and | ||
WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Knight | ||
joined the United States Air Force in January 1975 and became an air | ||
traffic controller; after returning home from the military, he was | ||
employed by the Campbell Soup company, and in 1985, he started | ||
working at the U.S. Post Office in Dallas; and | ||
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Knight enjoyed the love | ||
and support of his wife of more than four and a half decades, Lyne, | ||
and he took great pride in their children, John, Danny, and Heaven; | ||
with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family | ||
grow to include eight grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jalyn, Mason, | ||
Landry, London, Madie, Jax, and Broox; and | ||
WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Danny Knight | ||
leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far | ||
richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured | ||
place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Danny Lee Knight Sr. | ||
and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be | ||
it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Danny | ||
Knight. | ||
