R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Cane Island in Katy has been honored by Where to |
|
Retire magazine with inclusion on that publication's list of the 50 |
|
best master-planned communities in the United States; and |
|
WHEREAS, Following a nine-month review process by Where to |
|
Retire editors, Cane Island was selected for recognition from among |
|
hundreds of communities across the country; and |
|
WHEREAS, Established and managed by Rise Communities, Cane |
|
Island encompasses 1,100 acres and features a variety of homes for |
|
young families and retirees, as well as a host of impressive |
|
amenities and myriad services and activities for its residents; |
|
less than a year after it opened, the development won the 2016 |
|
Community of the Year PRISM Award from the Greater Houston Builders |
|
Association, with additional accolades for its entrance design, |
|
recreation center, and landscape design; and |
|
WHEREAS, Master-planned communities make significant |
|
contributions to the quality of life in the Lone Star State, and |
|
Cane Island is indeed an exemplar of Texas community planning at its |
|
most creative; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Cane Island on |
|
its selection as one of the 50 best master-planned communities in |
|
the United States by Where to Retire magazine and extend to all |
|
those involved with the community sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Cane Island as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
