R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss
  with the tragic passing of Ramon Najera Jr. of San Antonio on
  February 24, 2023, at the age of 81; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Raymond Najera and Genevieve Mora Najera,
  Ramon Najera was born in San Antonio on December 9, 1941; he grew up
  with the companionship of nine siblings, Patsy, Anita, Mary,
  Catherine, Gilbert, Rachel, Sylvia, Adam, and Roland; and
         WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Najera
  joined the U.S. Air Force, and he served in numerous locations
  across the U.S. and around the world; after 21 years of
  distinguished service, he retired at the rank of master sergeant;
  he went on to work in civil service, and he later embarked on a
  career as a security guard; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Najera benefited from the
  love and support of his wife, Janie, with whom he shared a rewarding
  marriage that spanned four and a half decades; he took great pride
  in his children, Raymond, Sylvia, Richard, and Ramon, and
  stepchildren, Carlos, Anna, and Olga, and over the years, he had the
  pleasure of welcoming into his family 19 grandchildren and 14
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, During his leisure time, Mr. Najera enjoyed dancing
  to Tejano music, collecting art, traveling, and spending time with
  loved ones; he also spent many hours maintaining his house and yard,
  and he received a beautification award from the City of Leon Valley
  for his attractive landscape gardening; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for his devotion to his family, his strong
  work ethic, and his kind and generous nature, Ramon Najera greatly
  enriched the lives of those around him, and he will forever hold a
  treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ramon Najera Jr. and
  extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Juanita Najera; to his children, Raymond Anthony Najera, Sylvia
  Marie Martinez and her husband, Roger, Richard Gilbert Najera and
  his wife, Diana, and Ramon Marcos Najera; to his stepchildren,
  Carlos Gomez Jr. and his wife, Yolanda, Anna Marie Alfaro and her
  husband, Robert, and Olga Lydia Gomez; to his 19 grandchildren and
  14 great-grandchildren; to his mother, Genevieve Najera; to his
  sisters, Rachel Gomez and Sylvia Gonzales; to his brothers, Adam
  Najera and Roland Najera; and to his other relatives and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ramon
  Najera.
