proposing a constitutional amendment prohibiting the taking of | ||

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 17(b), Article I, Texas Constitution, is | ||
amended to read as follows: | ||
(b) In this section, "public use" does not include the | ||
taking of property under Subsection (a) of this section for | ||
transfer to a private entity [ |

SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. | ||
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | ||
proposition: "The constitutional amendment prohibiting the taking | ||
of property by eminent domain for the purpose of transferring the | ||
property to a private entity." |
