HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, Wait times at points of entry between the United |
|
States and the United Mexican States are considerable; and |
|
WHEREAS, Wait times result in a reduction in commercial and |
|
economic activity; and |
|
WHEREAS, Wait times produce a significant increase of |
|
negative environmental impacts in the state; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Texas is a leader in trade relations in the |
|
international marketplace, eradication of wait times at points of |
|
entry would tremendously benefit the state, and every means of |
|
combating it should be explored; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas, |
|
hereby request the lieutenant governor and the speaker of the house |
|
of representatives to create a joint interim committee to study the |
|
effects on international trade on wait times at points of entry |
|
between the United States and the United Mexican States; and be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That the committee submit a full report including |
|
findings and recommendations, to the 84th Texas Legislature when it |
|
convenes in January, 2015. |
