A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the display of informational materials regarding organ |
|
|
donation by the Department of Public Safety. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 521.401, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|
|
(f) In all field offices, the department shall provide space |
|
|
for nonprofit organizations to display posters and other |
|
|
informational materials regarding organ donation that are visible |
|
|
to applicants. The materials must be: |
|
|
(1) approved in advance by the department; and |
|
|
(2) installed and maintained at no cost to the |
|
|
department. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
