| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 521.145(b), Transportation Code, is | ||
| amended to read as follows: | ||
| (b) The department shall provide the applicant and the | ||
| cosigner with information concerning state laws relating to | ||
| distracted driving, driving while intoxicated, driving by a minor | ||
| with alcohol in the minor's system, and implied consent. The | ||
| applicant and cosigner must acknowledge receipt of this | ||
| information. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
