relating to a state subsidy for the cost of general education | ||
development exams for those over the age of 21. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 315.006, Labor Code is amended by adding | ||
Subsection (C) to read as follows: | ||
(C) The commission shall provide a subsidy to | ||
individuals equal to the cost of a general education development | ||
(GED) exam for those over the age of 21. This subsidy must be used | ||
for the full amount of the general education development (GED) exam | ||
administration. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
