A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to a state subsidy for the cost of general education
  development exams for those over the age of 21.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 315.006, Labor Code is amended by adding
  Subsection (C) to read as follows:
                     (C)  The commission shall provide a subsidy to
  individuals equal to the cost of a general education development
  (GED) exam for those over the age of 21. This subsidy must be used
  for the full amount of the general education development (GED) exam
  administration.
 
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
