A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|

|
relating to a veterans treatment court program operated by a |
|
|
justice of the peace court. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 124.002, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c-1) The commissioners court of a county may designate a |
|
|
justice of the peace court within the county to operate a veterans |
|
|
treatment court program established under this chapter. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
