A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to requiring the Department of Family and Protective
  Services to adopt a process to allow a foster parent to donate a
  foster care payment to the department.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 264, Family Code, is
  amended by adding Section 264.131 to read as follows:
         Sec. 264.131.  DONATION OF FOSTER CARE PAYMENTS. (a)  The
  department shall adopt a policy to allow a foster parent to donate
  to the department a payment made under Section 264.101.
         (b)  The department may use a donation authorized under this
  section:
               (1)  in accordance with Section 264.101(e);
               (2)  to provide adoption assistance under Chapter 162;
  or
               (3)  to provide any other assistance for a foster child
  authorized by Title 5.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
