A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the statute of limitations for an employment |
|
|
discrimination complaint. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Sec. 21.202, Labor Code, is amended to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
Sec. 21.202. STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS. (a) A complaint under |
|
|
this subchapter must be filed not later than the 180th 210th day |
|
|
after the date the alleged unlawful employment practice occurred. |
|
|
(b) The commission shall dismiss an untimely complaint. |
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 2. This act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
